EMS
Division Chief Alan Pike has been employed by the Danville Fire Department since
September 1992. He resides in
Danville along with his wife and two daughters and has been a lifelong resident
of Danville.
Obtained Firefighter I&II in February 1993
Obtained EMT certification in April 1994
1994 Firefighter of the Year
Hired as Part-time employee for daytime in November 1994
Promoted to Assistant Daytime Administrator in April 1995
1997 EMT of the Year
Promoted to Lieutenant in January 1998
Hired as Full Time Employee in July of 1998
Promoted to EMS Division Chief in November 2000
Full Time Position change to Full Time Personnel Administrator in July 2001
2005 Obtain Paramedic Certification
The responsibilities of the EMS Division Chief include:
EMS
(Emergency Medical Services) Training of all Danville Fire Department personnel.
Supplying
and maintaining all EMS equipment for Danville Fire Department apparatus.
Ensure
that all Danville Fire Department personnel meet all Health, Safety and
Infections Control standards.
Maintain
quality control of the care given to all patients.

EMS
Division Chief Pike has spent countless hours training to improve his service to
the community. His certifications include State of Indiana Emergency Medical
Technician – Paramedic, State of Indiana Primary EMS Instructor, American
Heart Association CPR Instructor, State of Indiana Firefighter I & II, State
of Indiana Auto Extrication Technician, Hazardous Materials Technician, Fire
Medic II, State of Indiana Fire Officer I, State of Indiana Inspector I,
Emergency Medical Dispatcher and several management classes.
